Wolf Full Moon - Perceiving Our Fierce Protector & Nurturer

Wolf howling at a full moon.

WEEK ONE

"No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it."

Albert Einstein

THE THIRD EYE

Your very best support comes from your own spirit, your 'authentic' self.

PRANAYAM

      Begin with YOUR Signature Breath. Sitting in easy pose with your legs crossed comfortably and with a straight spine, feel you diaphragm lift, tuck your pelvis a bit, lift your heart, and pull the chin in (not down) to lengthen the back of the neck and open the cervical vertebra. Breathe this normal signature breath and listen to it. Become one with it and over a period of time listen to how it may change from emotion to emotion, event to event, day to day.

     Now begin lengthening your breath into a deep wave breath, belly breath, Ujjayi breath, also called the Victory Breath. This breath type helps you override thoughts that could possibly distract you from your meditative mental disengagement state. Used in the practice of yoga, it also creates a sound that assists you in synchronizing your movements with your breath.

      And finally, begin Breath of Fire.  Focus on your oxygen and pranic intake as you rapidly move your belly; pulling it in on the exhale and allowing it to relax and fill up on the inhale. The inhale and the exhale are even counts. Begin slowly until the process is smooth and then breathe more rapidly.

     Sit with your observer and observe your energetic self. Avoid thought. It will get easier!

YOGA

      Fear that arises from insecurity can shut down creativity. Personal radiance is blocked by insecurity and fear.

     Your most dependable source for offering up security in your life is your highest self, your authentic self, and the wisdom that you find in this relationship leads to self-reliance, banishing all fear. If self-reliance is strong, you are protected and those with you are protected.

     The following kriya promotes self-reliance. Exercise one and four stimulate the liver, exercise two and three open the heart center with compassion and surrender. Exercise five stimulates the Svadhisthana center (second chakra).

1. Sit with an erect spine and legs extended straight out, arms parallel to the ground.

Fingers are pointed forward. Inhale and lean back 60*, hold, raise the legs as high as possible and hold the position and the breath as long as possible. Exhale and lower the legs.

2.  Bend forward grasping the toes and pull firmly on them with normal breath for 11 minutes.

3.  Take several deep breaths, inhale and repeat (1.) and (2.) three or four times. This sets a balance in the auric field. It puts pressure on the liver to clean the body and increase courage. (The liver is the organ associated with fear.)

4. Sit on your heels with palms on thighs flexing the spine forward and powerfully whispering Sat, and rounding the spine backwards on Nam. Continue the spinal flex at a medium pace for eight minutes. Deeply inhale and exhale four times and relax.

5. Sit straight and press the palms together, locking the thumbs at the heart center. Press firmly on the palms and apply pressure to the center of the chest. With the entire weight of the upper body on the hands, concentrate all the mental energy at the root of the nose, and meditate in this pose for seven minutes.

6. In easy pose, spine stretched erect, move the waist side to side in a regular rhythm for three minutes. This works on the liver.

7. Spinal flex in easy pose, holding on the ankles, rapidly and accenting the forward motion so there is a slight pulling pressure on the sex organs. Continue for three minutes and then relax.

ART

      Art that is directive, individually and culturally, accesses this creative intellect of the universe, and allows resulting information to 'download' and flow through the artist.

     Entering into the flow of this stream of consciousness allows an individual to perceive from the view of ‘the whole’ not just a small segment of life’s theater during a specific moment in time, at a particular geographic location, in the restricted context of one’s life. Expanding into the very fullness of Energy neither lost nor created keeps the body, mind, and spirit un-blocked. In this first assignment open yourself to the fullness of this creative energy, the fullness of the ‘Self Sensory System’ by becoming aware of what is actually there and what is seemingly not there.

“Take your practiced powers and stretch them out until they span the chasm between two contradictions…for the God wants to know himself through you. (Rainer Maria Rilke)”. How beautiful is that statement? For the God wants to know himself through YOU!

1. Illustrate the following poem. Your image may or may not be literal. Focus on the negative shapes. Focus on that shape that is there only because it is not.

  -Lao Tzu-

  -From the Tao Te Ching- XI

Thirty spokes converge
In the hub of a wheel;
But the use of the cart
Will depend on the part
Of the hub that is void.

With a wall all around
A clay bowl is molded;
But the use of the bowl
Will depend on the part
Of the bowl that is void.

Cut out windows and doors
In the house that you build;
But the use of the house
Will depend on the part
Of the house that is void.

Thus advantage is had
From whatever is there;
But usefulness arises
From whatever is not.

MEDITATION

       I read someplace that it is no longer important to be the smartest kid on the block. The important aspect is to be the one with the best receiver.  The important aspect is to be the one with the best receiver. Tune into your creative self. Tune into others. Master the mental discipline necessary to change old habits in the subconscious mind and amplify perception of, and sensitivity to, the subtle energies produced by thought that is purely downloaded from the impulse of the infinite. In this way you will exercise a positive influence over your own life and your relationship with the lives of others. Learn to trust the information that you receive.

1. Sit erect. Find your pulse on your wrist. Close your eyes.

2. As you feel the beat of your pulse, coordinate the rise and fall of your breath to this rhythm.  Feel your heart expand. Exhale and feel your belly as it sinks towards your spine. “Every beat of your heart is a rhythm of your soul.” (Yogi Bhajan)

3. Now, bring your hands in Gyan Mudra (thumb touching the index finger) resting on your knees, and concentrate on the root of the nose.

4. To end, bring your head facing center, inhale, suspend the breath and exhale.
